Hell On Your Mental

ATLANTA RAPPER ELEMENTAL EMCEE DESIGNS A NEW RAP WITH DEBUT LP
ImageNovember 20th marks the release date of "Hell on your Mental", the debut solo LP from Atlanta native Elemental Emcee. From the album start to finish, no one is safe as disses fly in every direction taking aim at politicians, media figures, radio, and maybe even your favorite rapper. Elemental takes mainstream rap, radio, and even underground Hip Hop to task, and challenges his listener to reject established political and social systems. No subject is taboo and his sharp and humorous lyrics know no bounds and expose a range of issues.

The entire album was produced by Elemental with the exception of the song "Make It Happen", a classic cut featuring rap legend KRS-ONE and fellow ATLien DJ Klever. Label mate Cypher Linguistics joins Elemental on "Hold it Down", a bouncing diss track aimed at underground and mainstream rap, as well as on the politically charged drum and bass song "Intelligent Action". Each song on "Hell on Your Mental" is distinctively original, yet still has the ability to satisfy even the toughest old school fan. The CD is a musical tapestry of different sounds and influences flowing seamlessly from golden era boombap on the track "I'm Back”, a funky soulful mash up of searing horns and banging drums, into more progressive tunes like "New Rap", which can be described as Daft Punk style synths over a drum machine possessed by John Bonham.

Once among Atlanta's most feared battle Emcees, EL is now focused more on informing and uplifting minds than he is on crushing opponents. “Everything is not ok, but we can change it”, is a recurrent theme on “Hell on your Mental” and the artists’ current mantra. "I remember when you had to be original,” quips the artist, “when the music was fresh and you didn't have to be a criminal." Elemental’s beats and rhymes reach to raise the bar and push the limits of what Hip Hop is, yet still somehow remind you of a time when rappers told you exactly what Hip Hop isn't.

"Hell on Your Mental" is available November 20th on Dropbombz Records, I-tunes, www.elementalemcee.com, www.dropbombz.com, or ask for it at your local record store.

A Response to Al Sharpton's Attacks on Hip Hop

ImageAl Sharpton is a media whore and has called for the banning of certain words in Hip Hop lyrics, so I called my friend Busy Bee and asked him what he thought of the Reverend. He said some things that I know not to say, not because someone banned the words, but because I have common sense. So I asked him if he wanted to help me with this Al Sharpton diss track, and we made "Al Sharpton Is Ho" as a response to his crusade against Hip Hop artists. Please support real leaders in your community by ignoring these types of charlatans masquerading as holy men.

NEW SINGLE OUT NOW FEATURING KRS-ONE, DJ KLEVER AND ELEMENTAL EMCEE
Unless your 8-Track has been looping for the past 10, years you might have noticed the music industry is undergoing massive changes in the way music is delivered to the public. Simply put, record labels have been overcharging you for years and keeping the majority of the money that should have been going to the artists whose music you enjoyed.

My name is Elemental Emcee, and while I don't have a big name record label or a fancy publicist to write hyped up press releases and fake blogs, I do have some very talented and cool friends. My friends and I are just like you with bills, and kids, and all the other things that make up life, we just happen to also make music. So I did a song with KRS-ONE and DJ Klever over a fly beat made by ThreePeeoh. This isn't some RnB/Hip Hop mash up or exclusive remixed to death boring song like the radio has been feeding you and like the labels have been creating. This is raw Hip Hop bang you in the head boom bap beat with samuri cuts.

And who needs a record label anyway? Why not deal directly with the artist? The sales of this single only go to the people who created it, not some label, or promotion company that put up corny posters of some no talent rapper, or some suit behind a desk. It goes directly to the artists who deserve it. So be a part of this wonderful change in the music industry, grab the new single featuring KRS-ONE, DJ Klever and myself at www.myspace.com/elementalemcee for only .99 cents, because the way the music industry has been doing it made no sense.
